For Immediate Release
School Bus Collision Causes Minor to Moderate Injuries in Yosemite National
Park
Two school busses headed toward Yosemite Valley from the Yellow Middle
School in Newman, California collided today in a rear end collision. The
collision occurred at about 10:55 am approximately 1 mile north of the Big
Oak Flat/ El Portal Road intersection along the Big Oak Flat Road. 40
children total were on board the two busses. Injuries are reported as being
minor to moderate.
Children are being transported by ground ambulance to John C. Fremont
Hospital in Mariposa, California. The cause of the collision is under
investigation.

I wonder how in the world this could have happened? Thank goodness there were no serious injuries.

Time will tell, we will soon start hearing more details. You are right,glad the injuries were not any more serious.
The news this morning is saying some of the kids are home already.

Nice blog. Very informative. It’ll be really sad though if the accident happened because of someone’s carelessness.

I did not hear about this! How horrible! I am so glad to hear these kids are not seriously injured. Hopefully any emotional fears will go away soon and they will not fear school buses for too long.

I apologize if this post repeats, but I noticed that it didn’t post. Maybe it is just taking a bit longer than usual.
But I wanted you to know that I appreciated the news on this horrible accident. I hadn’t even heard about it. I was happy to know that none of the injuries were serious. I hope those kids can “get back on the bus” with no lasting fears of riding one.

@Linda yeah I am certainly not taking this accident lightly but I just keep thinking how much more serious it could have been. Very fortunate.
